You've probably heard the saying - you can't get too much of a good thing. Well that is the main principle behind the 49's Lotto. It is a great option for people who love lotto betting but might not want to wait until Wednesday or Saturday for the Irish Lotto draw for example... or they might want a cheeky little lunchtime bet. The 49's was created with draw times that are perfect for that schedule with a lunch time draw at 12:49 (GMT) and a "Tea Time" draw at 16:49 (GMT). It used to be at 17:49 but moved in october 2015 so perhaps British people have started eating tea earlier? The great thing is you don't need the hassle of finding a participating shop to bet on the 49's Lotto anymore. How does it work?

The principle is very similar to betting on the Irish Lotto and other lotteries. 6 main balls and a booster or bonus ball are drawn from a pot containing balls numbered 1 - 49 (hence the imaginative name!).

As there are 49 balls instead of 47 that are drawn in the Irish Lotto, you'd expect the odds to be better (as it is harder to predict them correctly). However if you like betting on 1 number or 5 numbers, you do actually get better value betting on the Irish Lotto.
