After working in the gambling industry for over a decade, Oliver spotted an opportunity to setup a resource for lottery bettors. CompareTheLotto.com was founded in 2014 and launched a UK site firstly with a South African following shortly after and USA being launched in 2020.

We're excited to announce that CompareTheLotto.com has officially expanded into the United Arab Emirates — our fourth market alongside the UK, US and South Africa.

The UAE's lottery landscape has undergone a huge transformation over the past two years. With the establishment of the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA) in 2023 and the launch of the country's first federally licensed lottery in late 2024, there's never been a better time for players in the region to have access to clear, impartial information about their options.

The UAE market is particularly interesting because there are three very different types of operator. The UAE Lottery is a traditional number-pick lottery with weekly and daily draws.
