Double trouble paid dividends for one lucky border-alternating player! A woman who plays the lotto in Virginia and North Carolina landed the jackpot when she crossed into Virginia territory to play the Virginia Lottery.

Julie Eagan, of South Mills in North Carolina, bought a winning Powerball ticket when she matched four of the five numbers. On a standard ticket, this would return $50,000 - but because she spent an extra dollar on the powerplay, she doubled her prize!

Ms. Eagan was delighted with the prize, adding: "it always feels good to win." That is some understatement, Julie!

Office pool lands a big splash

A dynamic office duo landed a life-changing prize in the Cash 5 with EZ Match game - splitting a whopping $130,000 windfall!

Co-workers Ricky Gantt and Richard Galimore initially thought they had won a paltry $200 from the June 4th drawing before the reality of what had happened dawned on them.

Mr. Galimore says he has no immediate plans to spend the money - claiming he'd rather pay off some bills.
