Prizes draws are becoming increasingly popular in the UK - they have similarities to lotteries in that you purchase an entry for a low amount with a chance at winning a grand prize. The main difference between a lottery draw and a prize draw is that the prize draw is to win a physical prize (usually a house or car) whereas a lottery is to win cash.
The second important difference between a traditional lottery (e.g. National Lottery) and prize draw operator (Omaze, BOTB, etc) is that the prize draws don’t legally have to donate money to charity - In the UK, to be classed as a ‘lottery’ you must donate a percentage of ticket sales to charity.
