BOTB (Best of the Best PLC) is a UK-based online competition company known for offering dream car and lifestyle prizes. Participants buy tickets to enter weekly competitions, hoping to win luxury vehicles, motorbikes, watches, and cash.

A unique component to BOTB is Spot The Ball - with each entry you must guess where the football should be in a photo. This is to make BOTB a 'game of skill' rather than legally classed as a lottery (which would mean they would be required to donate a large amount of their profits to charity). The judges then select where they believe the ball should be - closest selection to the judges wins. Take a look at our blog post that looks at BOTB odds and Spot The Ball in more detail.

Picking your favourite dream car or lifestyle prize (holidays, watches, etc) is a fun way to play - it gets your imagination going more than traditional lottery prizes. The flexibility of prize values is also great - you can still enter the prize draw just to win a cheaper prize, which means the entry is cheaper - for example, the competition to win a Laborghini Urus (RRP: £190K) has ticket prices of £5.60, however, the competition to win a Mini Cooper (RRP: £32K) has a ticket price of just £1.

Our Opinion

The odds are very hard to accurately estimate as it comes down to the accuracy of your Spot The Ball guess and then depends on where the judges pick.

How does the minimum entry price compare to other prize draw operators?

Review

How Does The Draw Work?
  1. Select the prize you want to win. This is usually a car, however, midweek prizes also include cash, watches and electronics.
  2. Purchase your tickets. The price of the ticket varies depending on the value of the prize. For example, the competition to win a Laborghini Urus (RRP: £190K) has ticket prices of £5.60, however, the competition to win a Mini Cooper (RRP: £32K) has a ticket price of just £1.
  3. Play Spot The Ball. This is perhaps the most unique feature of BOTB is that to enter you have to play Spot The Ball - which is, in theory, a game of skill that can increase your chance of winning. More information on how to play Spot The Ball below.
  4. Judging Panel. The judges are responsible for deciding where the winning ball location is. The judging panel is usually made up of a mixture of ex-professional footballers, referees and other football experts. You can watch each draw on the BOTB website and Youtube channel.
  5. Wait For The Results. You will receive an email when the results are ready and you can check the BOTB website.
Pros
  • Unique, fun way to play
  • Wide range of great prizes
  • Entry cost varies with car - can be very cheap to play
Cons
  • Difficult to work out accurate odds of winning
  • No requirement to donate to charity like traditional lotteries
