39’s Lotto Explained
What?
39’s is a fixed-odds numbers draw from SIS, the company that runs the 49’s. It uses live ball draws and is designed to be drawn far more often than a traditional lotto. In the UK it’s currently available online at Ladbrokes and Coral.
How?
- 5 balls are drawn from a selection of 1 – 39. There is no bonus ball.
- You can bet on 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 numbers. Your bet wins if every number you picked is among the 5 drawn.
- The more numbers you pick, the longer the odds — and the less likely the bet is to win.
When?
39’s is drawn every 3 minutes during its daily schedule, with draws staggered against Fast 15’s. Read more in our Fast 15’s and 39’s explainer.
39’s Lotto FAQs
How does the draw work?
Five balls are drawn live from a machine containing balls numbered 1 to 39. There is no bonus ball, so there’s no “with or without bonus” choice to make.
How many numbers can I bet on?
Between 1 and 5. You win if all of the numbers you picked are among the 5 drawn.
Is 39’s easier to win than the 49’s?
Not by much. 39’s has fewer balls but also draws one fewer ball than the 49’s, so the chance of a 1, 2 or 3 ball bet winning is very similar. For 4 and 5 balls, 39’s is actually harder to win, as only 5 balls are drawn.
Which bookmakers offer 39’s?
At the time of writing, only Ladbrokes and Coral offer 39’s in the UK. Both are owned by Entain and currently offer the same odds. If other bookmakers add it, we’ll include them in the table above.
Are the bookmakers offering 39’s regulated?
Yes. Ladbrokes and Coral are both licensed and regulated by the UK Gambling Commission http://www.gamblingcommission.gov.uk
How old do I have to be to bet on 39’s?
You must be 18 or over. Both bookmakers verify your age before you can bet.
How do I stay in control with draws this frequent?
With a draw every three minutes there’s no natural break, so it’s worth setting a budget and a time limit before you start. Ladbrokes and Coral both offer deposit limits, reality checks and time-outs, and our bet budget calculator can help you plan.
