A new advertising push from Betfred Lotto has been making waves on television sets around the United Kingdom and Ireland - but what is it all about? How does Betfred go about showcasing its Lotto product? Would the production values win awards?
Welcome to our breakdown of Betfred's newest Lotto advert.
It's a small world - as the saying goes - but Betfred crosses borders with its lotto offering, and that reflects in its bouncing new advert. The ad starts with regular lotto balls floating around the screen, before spinning around to transform into flags - each flag representing a country from which draws are held and that Betfred offers markets.
The advert then explains the premise of its ‘Pick 3 Match 3’ option - more on that below - and explains the tools at your disposal to place your bets on the Betfred dedicated Lotto app or website.
Pick 3 Match 3 represents one of Betfred's most popular lotto bets and the advert showcases the pay-out on a £1 bet. (You can place individual bets from as little as 5p as long as the total betslip amount totals 50p or more).
The rules are simple. Pick 3 Match 3 is a fixed-odds numbers bet on the outcome of selected national lotteries and numbers betting games. If you match three numbers on a £1 bet, you will win £700.
You can choose to Pick and Match between 1 and 5 balls but the 3 ball option is by far the most popular. This type of lotto betting has become so popular the National Lotto have tried to mimic it with their UK and Euromillions Hotpicks offering.
You can choose to bet on the Irish, Irish Daily Million, New York, Spanish, French, Polish, Canadian, Greek, Australian, and German lotteries as well the 49’s and The Nifty Fifty numbers games.
Yes - no viewer can be in any doubt about how the Pick 3 Match 3 option works. It's a clean and concise representation of how the offer works.
Style, Graphics, Voiceover, And Any Other Business?
Betfred's lotto adverts are known for their bubbly, colourful nature - and it doesn't shift from that theme here. Each lotto ball graphic utilises national themes by donning themed attire. For example, the French bingo ball sports a beret - if there is an item of clothing that associates with a specific nation more than the humble beret, we're yet to hear of it.
What of the voiceover? Those familiar with Betfred will know of the bookmaker's northern roots - but to this trained ear, there is no Manchester accent in earshot. However, the presenter does a great job of mapping out how the Pick 3, Match 3 offer works.
