ComparetheLotto.com is excited to launch our Bet Budget Calculator to help customers always play affordably and stay in control safely.
It is our sincere hope that the tool, which was launched in the first half of 2021, can help customers always bet on the lotto in a sustainable way.
This is how it works, broken down into five steps.
1. How much disposable income do you have each month?
If you already know the answer - great. If not, it will be simply calculated when you enter your:
- Income: Any money coming in (Salary, Pension, Investment Income etc.)
- Outgoings: All money going out (Bills & Expenses)
2. Do you have a portion of savings you're happy to lose on betting?
If the answer to the above question is yes, make sure you nominate an absolute maximum value you're comfortable taking from any savings. Alternatively, select "No" when posed the question - in which case you advance to the next step.

3. What is the maximum proportion of your disposable income figure you'd be comfortable depositing for gambling?
Having calculated your disposal income, you can now use the easy slider to set a percentage of it that you would be comfortable to spend and lose.
4. Which bookmaker(s) do you have an account with?
Simply select all the bookmakers you use to place your bet or have an account with.
Our calculator will now tell you your personal Bet Budget. This is the maximum you should consider spending on gambling according to your budget affordability and preferences.
5. Allocate a proportion of your budget to each bookmaker you use:
Again simply use the handy slider to choose the percentage of your personalised bet budget to spend with your selected bookmakers.
Now simply click the links to the bookmakers and set deposit limits for the specified amount.
Why should you set a budget and stick to it?
For the vast majority, betting on the lottery or any other form of gambling is fun and provides a touch of light entertainment. However it is possible to lose track and spend more than you can afford.
Please consider using our calculator and setting limits.
