Paddy Power Lotto Site Redesigned - How does it compare?

Paddy Power are the kings of social media marketing and viral stunts - however there is method to their madness and they mostly back up the nutty nonsense with a strong user experience and offering in Sports and E-Gaming.
They've grabbed headlines and caused havoc for a whole array of stunts:
- Oscar Time: money back if Oscar Pistorius walked
- Rainbow Laces: raising the issue of homophobia in football
- Celebrities wearing green Y-fronts
However until recently their lotto betting section was looking more tired than a Greek politician. You may have read our existing review and seen our odds tables where we compare Paddy Power with the rest to see who offers the best Irish lotto betting odds.
The boldly claim in their TV adverts "We hear you" but we wanted to see if they have heard our appeals to improve the lotto betting experience with the recent lotto launch.
The first noticeable change is the look and feel of the new lottery section. It has been given the Paddy Power makeover treatment to bring it in line with their branding.
A minor annoyance is the requirement that you need to have your mobile or iPad in portrait mode instead of landscape (but not a big deal).
The choice of lotteries to bet on is clearly laid out straight away when you enter the lotto area. They are:
- Irish Lottery
- 49s Lotto
- Daily Millions
- New York Lottery
- Spanish Lottery
- German Lottery
- Hong Kong Lottery
Paddy Power are one of the online bookmakers leading the race to improve the user experience for customers and the simplicity of the lotto betting pages reflect that.
You can easily select the draws you want to bet on and the last bet time is clearly displayed. For example with the most popular Irish lotto, you can place bets until 19:45 (UK time). This is around 15 minutes before the draw and something it's good to know.
One of the best new features is that you can bet on up to 5 draws in advance - this is a great addition and a clever move by Paddy Power as it trumps many of the competitors.
Missing from the new section are any lotto specials which competitors like bet365 offer. These are things like betting whether the bonus ball will be odd or even and some of our players do like this. Then again, many others want a simple, easy to use way to get great value odds betting on the different lotteries.
Something we'd have loved to see with the launch of the new lotto section was a free bet for new lottery customers. Unfortunately Paddy Power haven't heard us on this one but we'll keep banging that particular drum until they do!
All in all the new Paddy Power lotto section is a welcome improvement and something we're happy to recommend to our customers.
