What is Daily Million, Ireland’s other lottery?
Basically, it is, as its name suggests, a lottery draw that takes place every day, with a €1 million prize always up for grabs. It differs from the Irish Lotto though, as it offers fixed prizes, but not rollovers. A big perk of the Daily Million is that it costs a mere €1 to play.
Background
Daily Million replaced the Monday Million in 2012, keeping the same format, except – that’s right – it is now available to play every day.
The daily draw (which takes place at 9pm GMT), has 39 balls, with six balls drawn, plus one bonus number. If you get all six numbers, you get the €1 million jackpot. If you match just three, you’ll win.

Daily Million Odds & Prizes
You’re nearly three times as likely to match six numbers and scoop the jackpot on the Daily Million compared to the Irish Lotto, and more than four times as likely compared to the UK Lotto. If a million is enough for you, this is the game for you.

Betting on Daily Million
Like other lottery draws, you can also bet on the Daily Millions without buying a ticket. A host of leading online bookmakers (Betfred, Boyle Sports, Coral) offer various odds for lottery betting. For example, if you like, you can bet on just one number to appear, which is available at odds of up to 5/1. So, if you fancied number 13 to appear in tonight’s draw, and you staked £10, you would take home £60 if it does so. Also, if you correctly select three numbers with a bookie instead of buying a ticket, you would take £400 rather than €10 (as you would get with a ticket) from a £1 stake.
In Summary: Daily Million
- Takes place every day at 9pm (GMT)
- €1 million jackpot every day
- €1 per ticket
- Just 39 numbers to pick from
- Better chance of a jackpot win than Irish Lotto or UK Lotto
